Citizen BI5012-53E – $$

citizen gold watch

Heading the list of Citizen gold watches is the Citizen BI5012-53E. This is a no-frills, Citizen gold watch you can wear daily. This Citizen Men’s watch also comes with a gold-tone stainless steel bracelet.

What We Like: We like the watch because it is amazingly affordable. At the same time, it comes with everything you would expect from a reliable wrist ticket. There’s a quartz movement with a date window. The stainless steel bracelet comes with a foldover clasp for a good fit.

What We Don’t Like: We just wished the water resistance could be higher, although 50M may be enough for daily use unless you go diving. The mineral crystal is less ideal, but you can always upgrade it at your local watch store.

Citizen BF2013-56E – $$

The BF2013-56E may be a variation of the 53E, with some changes in design here and there. Functionally and feature-wise, both are the same. The gold-tone stainless steel bracelet is is sturdy and should secure the watch to your wrist. This is also a quartz watch.

What We Like: This Citizen gold watch has a sportier face, with long and thin hour markers. The grooved outer edge of the watch dial also added some variation to the look. We also like the crown guard on the watch. The other features made the watch a reliable daily beater.

What We Don’t Like: We wish Citizen could have added a day window and sapphire crystal to the watch. However, this may be too much of an ask at the price range. At least you can upgrade your own sapphire crystal.

Citizen AN8192-56P – $$$$

citizen gold watch

The AN8192-56P is a gold-colored chronograph down to the dial face. The only non-gold surface of the watch is the lume and parts of the dial. This is not a fake chronograph either, as it works and takes time just as well as your Omega Speedmasters.

What We Like: This Citizen goldwatch looks like a racing watch and works like one. We have seen cheap watches with chronographs that do not work. The watch also has 100M water resistance. The 42mm dial also makes it easy on many wrists.

What We Don’t Like: This watch comes with mineral crystal. The sapphire crystal may not be too much of an ask at this price range. We are also concerned that the crown and buttons do not have guards. If you are not careful, you may knock on and break them.

Citizen AN8172-53P – $$$

The AN8192-56P is a gold-colored chronograph, just as gold as the 56P. The difference is the design. The 53P has chronograph dials at the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions.

This watch also does not skimp on gold. It’s everywhere except the dial lume, hour markers, and date window. There also a gold-tone stainless steel bracelet.

What We Like: This Citizen gold watch also has a functional chronograph, which is good. The steel bracelet feels sturdy, with a decent foldover clasp. A crown guard protects the crown from being caught in weird angles, and the 40mm face is friendly to many wrists.

What We Don’t Like: This watch, again, comes with mineral crystal. But fitting a chronograph into a watch at this price range would have left little space for a sapphire crystal.

Citizen Corso BM7252-51E – $$$$$

citizen gold watch

If you want something affordable yet good quality, check out the Corso BM7252-51E. You can feel the difference in workmanship with this model against the others in this list. The gold-tone stainless steel bracelet also feels sturdy and confidence inspiring.

What We Like: This watch comes with all the basic things you would expect from a decent Citizen. Sapphire crystal, 100M water resistant, date window, and stainless steel clasp. The Citizen Eco-Drive movement ensures your watch no longer needs a battery replacement.

What We Don’t Like: The watch only needs one more thing to be a perfect daily office or go about watch – a day window. I wonder if paying another $20 gets you a day window, but we would happily pay for it.

Citizen Corso BM7103-51L – $$$$$

If the 51E’s design does not jive with your sense of aesthetics, check out the 51L. This watch has a more luxurious dial. The deep blue dial face reminds us of some premium Seiko models. At the same time, the diamond hour markers amps up the luxury look.

What We Like: Similar to the 51E, it has all the features that make it a worthy Citizen gold watch. The lux look certainly amped it up further. Don’t be surprised if people want to check out your watch if they see you wearing it. The Citizen Eco-Drive calibre also makes the watch excellent.

What We Don’t Like: This Citizen gold watch will be a perfect competitor to the Seiko 5 with one more thing… the day window. We think Citizen could get away with charging slightly more with that feature.

Citizen BF0582-51F

The BF0582-51F could be seen as the Citizen version of a regular Seiko 5 without the fuss of managing an automatic movement. The watch has the classic Seiko 5 look, down to how the day date windows are arranged. On top of that, add in the gold-tone stainless steel bracelet for a full gold look.

What We Like: If you like the aesthetics of the classic Seiko 5 but hate the automatic movement, this is your watch. The watch also comes with a crown guard, and the deep black dial helps read the watch.

What We Don’t Like: 30M water resistance is only going to be enough for occasional splashes at the swimming pool or when washing your hands. At this age and time, 50M should be the bare minimum.

Citizen BH1673-50E – $$$

The Citizen gold watch is a great option if you like Cartier Tank. This is because the watch has a tank shape, similar to the Cartier. In fact, we think this model can be considered a Homage watch to the Cartier Tank.

What We Like: This is a Cartier Tank, but full of gold. Wear this, and you will get surprising stares from people who may think you’re wearing a Cartier. The bracelet has a unique look and secures well on your wrist.

What We Don’t Like: This is another 30M water resistance disappointment from Citizen. This watch also comes with only a mineral crystal. It may be harder to upgrade this since rectangular-shaped crystals are harder to find than round ones.

Citizen AW1232-04A

citizen gold watch

The AW1232-04A may be one of the most elegant watches on the list. Designed to be dressy, it oozes a classic look. It should look absolutely beautiful on a man wearing a khaki suit.

What We Like: The watch has a classic look, which reminds us of the older Omega Seamaster DeVille of the 1950s and 60s. The champagne-colored dial blends very well with the gold case, and the leather strap makes the whole watch compete. Best still, it is powered by the Eco-Drive movement.

What We Don’t Like: This is a very dressy watch, meaning it does not need high water resistance, But 30M is just too little. 50M would be much better. Since it is a dressy watch, we would gladly trade away the date window for a sapphire crystal.

Citizen Chandler BM6552-52E

citizen gold watch

The Citizen Chandler BM6552-52E is a tonneau-shaped watch, which may remind you of Richard Mille or Franck Muller. The gold-tone stainless steel bracelet seems to give this watch a sporty vibe but will pass as a dress watch.

What We Like: There are not many good-looking gold tonneau watches under $250; we think this is the best. The simple black dial with reduced hour markers makes the watch elegant. The thick bracelet also means you may wear this as a sports watch.

What We Don’t Like: We do not understand why Citizen only gives these watches 30M water resistance. We wish this watch could get at least 50M, even better if 100M. We are sure many would not mind paying an additional $20 or $30 for that.

Citizen Weekender BU4023-54E

The Citizen Weekender Bu4023-54E may look like a racing watch. In fact, the designs on the dial seem to look like tires. However, look closer, and you should notice the mini dials are not timers but the analog date and day dials.

The gold-tone stainless steel bracelet should also complement a leather jacket well. This also will be great as a Citizen sport watch.

What We Like: The race-inspired look made the watch interesting. The rose gold color also does not scream for attention too much and has 100M water resistance. It even comes with Eco-Drive too.

What We Don’t Like: Mineral Crystal. This watch would be complete with a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating. Well, at least you can get these installed at your watchmaker.
